3月25日 Entrepreneurial MentalityEntrepreneurial Mentality
4th Speech of Johnson lakeman2000@163.com March 11, 2006 One year ago our club was founded, and I almost took part in all the parties, which gave me a lot, friends, English, leadership skills and my fiancée. We know one of our missions is to foster the future leaders including entrepreneurs, CEOs. Everybody has his driving force. Reputation? Money? Power? My driving force is pursuing the sense of achievements and, maybe you know, the freedom. Compared with all the careers, I think to be an entrepreneur is the most suitable way for me. I plan to start my company in 7 years. Although Jack Welch said ”Business is a game! Not a serious thing!” I feel it not easy. But I have confidence because I am not alone, you are my friends. You will help me or join me, won’t you?
In American it is the entrepreneurs who drive the development of the society while in China they work in the hardship of government authority monopolization in some degree. But with the deepening of reform and opening-up our entrepreneurs will gradually dominate the social life wherever in economics and politics.
I salute those who dare to dream! I admire those who allow their minds to soar while their feet remain planted on firm ground. I envy those with the guts to go where man has never set foot before. Some of you will be those, my future pioneers.
Several years ago, I took part in Business Plan Competition and read the Entrepreneur's Credo accidentally. I was excited and shocked and my entrepreneur mentality was arose! I want to share the Entrepreneur's Credo with you today.
Entrepreneur's Credo…..
My future CEOs, the real credit for our future prosperity belongs to you, the future leaders of Chinese industry. It belongs to those of you who supplied entrepreneurial leadership. It belongs to those of you who believe and practice the Entrepreneur's Credo “seek opportunity – not security. “
Entrepreneur's Credo of the American Entrepreneurs AssociationI do not choose to be common. It is my right to be uncommon – if I can. I seek opportunity – not security. I do not wish to be a kept citizen, humbled, and dulled by having the state look after me. I want to take a calculated risk, to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed. I refuse to barter incentive for a dole. I prefer the challenges of life to guaranteed existence; the thrill of fulfillment to the stale calm of Utopia. I will not trade freedom for beneficence nor my dignity of the handout. I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat. It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid, to think and act for myself, to enjoy the benefit of my creations and to face the world boldly and say: This, with God’s help, I have done. All this is what it means to be an Entrepreneur.
