Entrepreneurial MentalityEntrepreneurial Mentality
4th Speech of Johnson lakeman2000@163.com March 11, 2006 One year ago our club was founded, and I almost took part in all the parties, which gave me a lot, friends, English, leadership skills and my fiancée. We know one of our missions is to foster the future leaders including entrepreneurs, CEOs. Everybody has his driving force. Reputation? Money? Power? My driving force is pursuing the sense of achievements and, maybe you know, the freedom. Compared with all the careers, I think to be an entrepreneur is the most suitable way for me. I plan to start my company in 7 years. Although Jack Welch said ”Business is a game! Not a serious thing!” I feel it not easy. But I have confidence because I am not alone, you are my friends. You will help me or join me, won’t you?
In American it is the entrepreneurs who drive the development of the society while in China they work in the hardship of government authority monopolization in some degree. But with the deepening of reform and opening-up our entrepreneurs will gradually dominate the social life wherever in economics and politics.
I salute those who dare to dream! I admire those who allow their minds to soar while their feet remain planted on firm ground. I envy those with the guts to go where man has never set foot before. Some of you will be those, my future pioneers.
Several years ago, I took part in Business Plan Competition and read the Entrepreneur's Credo accidentally. I was excited and shocked and my entrepreneur mentality was arose! I want to share the Entrepreneur's Credo with you today.
Entrepreneur's Credo…..
My future CEOs, the real credit for our future prosperity belongs to you, the future leaders of Chinese industry. It belongs to those of you who supplied entrepreneurial leadership. It belongs to those of you who believe and practice the Entrepreneur's Credo “seek opportunity – not security. “
Entrepreneur's Credo of the American Entrepreneurs AssociationI do not choose to be common. It is my right to be uncommon – if I can. I seek opportunity – not security. I do not wish to be a kept citizen, humbled, and dulled by having the state look after me. I want to take a calculated risk, to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed. I refuse to barter incentive for a dole. I prefer the challenges of life to guaranteed existence; the thrill of fulfillment to the stale calm of Utopia. I will not trade freedom for beneficence nor my dignity of the handout. I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat. It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid, to think and act for myself, to enjoy the benefit of my creations and to face the world boldly and say: This, with God’s help, I have done. All this is what it means to be an Entrepreneur.
但想起最开始文化沙龙里面phoebe,well and Johnson etc.

Club needs our care!3rd speech of Johnson Saturday, November 26, 2005 My dear friends: As the former president, now I want to say “Thank you!” my fellow members. It’s your cooperation and help that gave me the courage to run the club well. The achievement of our club is gained through the united efforts of our all fellow members, thank you! Almost one year has past since our club was founded. I can clearly remember that day when we 6 persons gathered in Culture Salon Bar to discuss how to set up our club first time. Now I am very glad to see that our club grows stronger and stronger: so many new faces are here; Bill leads our club; more and more persons know us. As a nonprofit organization, the officers have no compensation and salary. But they really did a great job for us. Thank you, our diligent officers, especially Bill, it’s you who take the president of our club so that I can get off from the servant place and be a real host. Actually, in a nonprofit organization, the officers are real servants. Just as…( treasure, membership, education, president for the meeting and room cleaning). Why should they do this? To be an officer, it’s true that we can get more opportunities to improve ourselves, especially leadership skills. But to tell the truth, it is not the main reason why I pay so much energy to the club. The main reason is that you are my friends; I am willing to do more for my friends. Sometimes, I sit in the club in front of you just as I am at home. I can say anything in front of you sincerely. Club is my new home in the university. You are my family. Brothers and sisters! Club is our family, a family where we can laugh loudly and we can cry loudly. When you make a speech, everyone is willing to give you the sincere feedback for you to improve yourself. I believe we all have such kind feelings about our club or want have the feelings. We all cherish our family, our parents, our brothers and sisters. Although maybe you are the only child in your parents’ family, but now you have us, your brothers and sisters in the new family.
To maintain our family needs our continuous united efforts and cares. Officers do something and fellow members do something. What can we do specifically? There are five things for us: 1. Cherish every opportunity to make personal progress. (our missions) 2. Be on time. 3. Listen to the speaker attentively and actively. 4. Be accountable and responsible for our roles. 5. Do something to make our club be a real family. My brothers and sisters, from my experience, I can guarantee that you will be definitely rewarded with various wonders which would surprise you unexpectedly from time to time if we open our heart to our club, our family, our brothers and sisters.
If you take one step close to Allah, Allah will take ten steps close to you!" "Allah is among people, if you hurt people, you hurt Allah"
同时我想到了一直用于QQ签名档的Russel的的一句话“Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind .” 我有一丝迷惑了,我曾以下面一段话作为我的信仰“I live for experience at three life principles: Love unconditionally; Existence is reasonable; Live with passion!"
A letter to a friend about my life viewHi, Tiger, Glad to meet you. I wrote to you for help and to tell you my appreciation to the meeting with you last night. I learned a lot from you. The change of my life attitude from "Happiness!" to "To be my best self!" has happened. I had three life principles before I met you: a) Love unconditionaly. b) Existence is reasonable. c) Live with passion. I thought the principles would give a happy life. They have really helped me a lot. "Love" gives me mind power, self-assurance and optimistic attitude to people, life and the world. When I do something on the principle I feel no doubt. "Existence is reasonable!" makes me understand others, be tolerant and believe the existence of reason for everything. “Live with passion!” reminds me be positive, act with passion and be vigorous. But when I considered them and wanted to unify them systematically, I found the incompatibility that they looked a little decentralizing. After I failed to combine them to an integration, I assumed they should be unified under "happiness" just as our ancestors couldn't understand some natural phenomena and created totems to explain them. So when asked about the definition of success, I said "Happiness!" thoughtlessly. Then you reminded me again it's "To be my best self!" without any hesitation. After your departure, I considered a lot about my definition of success. The meaning of "Happiness!" is abstract and vague compared with "To be my best self!" which not only points out the life goal but also points out the life process. It not only tells me to consider my current situation to make a right choice but also tells me to consider my future. I have never felt so clear in mind what the success is. I am sure my life principles have found their home "To be my best self!" Thanks a lot! Sincerely HuangChao Live With Passion (my first speech)Live With Passion
1st Speech of Johnson May 27, 2005 [Start: Trigger audiences' interest with a deep sigh, pretend to be sick and tired. And then ask a question louder] How do you think of me and my speech? What's your expectation? You must be influenced by my sigh. You must feel sick and tired because of my depressed behavior. [louder and higher voice] But, Now, Let's start my speech.--Live With Passion! Jack Welch, as one of the most famous CEO in human history, it's him who created the myth of General Electric Co, was once asked to describe the most important quality as a CEO in one word. Do you know what Jack said? Jack said:” Passion!”
Life needs passion because passion makes us successful, passion makes us attractive and passion makes us happy!
[Developing: Why]
We need passion. We want to succeed. We want to be attractive. We want to live a happy life. In our youth our hearts were touched with fire. As we grow up, we are gradually losing our passion. This can be proved by our performance at different age. I believe the constant passion can help us a lot! I realized it and read a lot of materials and watched many videos on it. Now, I really want to share and discuss the problem with you. So I chose this topic. Someone may challenge me and ask me why the passion can make us successful, attractive and happy. We may have thought of it before, but without deep discussion. We can have a heart-to-heart talk on this topic after my speech. Now, what we really care is how to get constant passion and where passion comes from?
[Climax: How
Use action and music to energize audiences Trigger their mind. Shout a word Passion; Stretch Dance to music ] I believe passion comes from love. Only when we love something, we can maintain our passion on it. Life needs passion. Life needs our love. We want to live a happy life. We need to love life. It's a simple logic. Love life! Love the people around you. Love the world around you Then passion is with you. . But, learning how to love is a life long process. Is there any easy method to make us full of passion on life? The answer is “Absolutely yes!” Do you want to know the method? I really have a simple method, everybody can use it. Now let's have a try--Live With Passion!
Action helps you keep your passion. Let's rise up. Relax yourself. Have deep breath. Breathe out slowly. Stretch right! Stretch left! Now! Music! [Music starts]
Dance and sing to music! Let's shout to music! Passion! Passion! [Music stops] Do you feel your passion?
I feel my passion. Remember action helps you keep your passion. [Ending: Call for action!
Give a guest an opportunity to know someone who she or he wants to know at the meeting and make friends with.] Live with passion because passion makes you successful, attractive and happy Now, use your passion, your courage, your love Do something that you really want to do and are scared to do, now, immediately or after the party without delay. Take out your phone. Tell someone you love her/him Tell your parents you love them. Tell your brothers and sisters you love them. Tell your friend you really like her/him. Let's do it.
Speak with passion! Study with passion! Work with passion! In one word, action with passion!
Action now. Don't hesitate. It's time to energize yourself to challenge your fear, It's time to find your passion To find your power, and your happiness, Eventually, you will find yourself. You will find you are so popular, you are so happy, your life is full of sunshine. Let's say together. Or I say, you say! Passion! Passion! Passion! Action now! In the end of my speech, I have a gift to one guest. Who want to be the one?
It's an incredible and invaluable gift. Even you can't buy it using money! [At the end, give a guest an opportunity to know someone who she or he wants to know at the meeting and make friends with.] A new friend, or a close friend, or even a life long close friend. [When the two guys shake hands, applause!]
Live with passion. Learn how to love life. Using action maintain your passion! Reference: Jack Welch, CEO Exchange Anthony Robin, Personal Power Brian Tracy, The Psychology of Achievement Marshall Sylver, Hypnotic_Selling |
